I love traveling and trying new things—especially experiences I’ve never had before. This fall, I really wanted to visit a pumpkin patch. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun seasonal outing and pick up some pumpkins for a Thanksgiving tablescape.
My boyfriend and I decided to go to Bullock Farms, and to our surprise, we ended up enjoying it even more than expected. It was so sweet seeing our childlike curiosity come alive—especially watching him wander through the fields, fascinated by all the different shapes and colors of the pumpkins.
Since we went late in the season, around early November, most of the classic orange pumpkins were already gone, leaving mostly odd, misshapen, discolored ones—which ended up being our favorites. They also had an apple orchard on the property, so we went apple picking as well. We brought home both Aztec and Golden Crisp apples. The Golden Crisps quickly became my new favorite; they were so sweet and flavorful, almost like a pear—which I absolutely love.
After we finished exploring, we walked back to the farm stand and bought fresh apple cider, one of the best I’ve ever had. We also picked up a jar of honey made right there on the farm—they even keep their own bees, which I thought was amazing.
By the end of the day, we headed home happy and full of fall spirit. The only thing I missed out on was the petting zoo, which was sadly closed by the time we got there. But overall, it was such a wholesome, memorable experience—definitely something I’d love to do again.
