The interesting thing about hobbies is that once you start doing them consistently over the years, they can naturally evolve into a lifestyle and become good habits. For the longest time, wellness was my hobby. I enjoyed Pilates, meditation, journaling, and visiting bathhouses in my spare time. Now, after over six years of practicing these habits, they have become a full-fledged lifestyle. This foundation allows me to expand my routine and explore new hobbies to focus on.
Tennis has been a hobby I’ve been considering for well over a year—I’ve wanted to start lessons. But when I was talking to my sister, she suggested, “Why don’t you try archery or fencing?” I loved the idea of fencing and thought, “Why not do both?” The beauty of hobbies is that they are meant for enjoyment, not necessarily for becoming a professional. For me, tennis and fencing can be enjoyable activities where I learn something new, stay active, and challenge my mind.
Like with anything new I start, I love to begin with a vision board: Why am I doing this, and how do I want it to make me feel?
Here are some images that inspire me, and I hope to turn them into my reality.
