Daily Supplements for a Healthy Body

When I began my mindfulness journey in 2020, I stopped taking supplements because I believed that a healthy diet could provide all the nutrition I needed. However, in early 2025, I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency and noticed that my recovery from Pilates classes was taking longer than usual. On my doctor’s advice, I decided to reintroduce supplements into my routine, starting with vitamin D. Since then I added more to my daily intake because I learned some supplements absorb better with the help of others.

My daily supplement stack consists of six pills and three powders. I mix the powders into my favorite morning Blue Berry Superfood Smoothie.

Morning Smoothie Recipe

  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • One ripe banana
  • One cup of spinach
  • One cup of blue berries
  • One scoop of Creatine
  • One scoop of Prebiotic
  • One scoop of Collagen

Below are the links to these supplements and their benefits:

Creatine (Momentous)

  • Why I take it: Supports strength, recovery, and even cognitive function which helps me with my solution of feeling sore after a workout.

  • Benefits: One of the most researched supplements for performance and brain health.

Prebiotic (Vital Nutrients Prebiotic Powder)

  • Why I take it: Gut health, digestion, and immune support. I take this as a compliment to the probiotic.

  • Benefits: Keeps my microbiome balanced.

Collagen Peptides (Vital Proteins)

  • Why I take it: Besides proper sleep and a lot of water I take collagen to help promote healthy skin, hair, nails, and joints.

  • Benefits: Provides amino acids like glycine and proline.

Sometimes I take my supplements right after my morning smoothie, but other times I wait until lunch or dinner. Below, I’ve listed the supplements I take daily, along with the reasons I use them and their benefits.

  • Why I take it: For heart, brain, and anti-inflammatory support.

  • Benefits: Rich in omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).

Vitamin K2 (Nature Made)

  • Why I take it: Helps with calcium absorption and bone health.

  • Benefits: Works synergistically with Vitamin D3.

Probiotic  (Nature’s Bounty)

  • Why I take it: To support gut health, digestion, and immune balance.

  • Benefits: Supports digestion, boosts immunity, and balances gut bacteria.

Vitamin D3 (Nature Made)

  • Why I take it: For mood, bone, and immune health.

  • Benefits: Especially helpful if you don’t get enough sun.

Active B-Complex (Integrative Therapeutics)

  • Why I take it: Energy metabolism and stress support.

  • Benefits: Methylated B vitamins for better absorption.

Magnesium (Nature’s Bounty, 500 mg)

  • Why I take it: Helps with relaxation, sleep, and muscle recovery.

  • Benefits: Supports hundreds of biochemical processes in the body.

These are the supplements I take as part of my personal health journey. Since I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, I’ve put together a supplement routine tailored to my goals and needs.
